Bruny Island Cruises

Bruny Island Cruises is the original and most famous of the Pennicott Wilderness Journeys. Operating since 1999, the company provides 3 hour wilderness cruises along the spectacular coastline of the South Bruny National Park.

You will cruise alongside some of Australia’s highest sea cliffs, drift up close to listen to the awesome ‘Breathing Rock’, enter sea caves, pass through the narrow gap between the coast and ‘The Monument’, a tall slender stack and feel the power of nature at the point where the Tasman Sea meets the might of the Southern Ocean.

THE NECK LOOKOUT

Bruny Island Neck is an isthmus of land connecting north and south Bruny Island, southern Tasmania.

Boardwalks and viewing platforms enable you to observe short-tailed shearwaters and little penguins (also known as fairy penguins) which you can see returning to their burrows in the sand dunes at dusk in tight groups and the shearwaters gliding in from the sea. The best viewing period is during the warmer months—September to February.

Timber stairs lead from the dunes to the Neck lookout, offering stunning 360 degree views.
